Before July 4, Make Sure Your Car Is Road Ready

This summer, July 4 is going to be a big deal. We saw last year’s holiday all but canceled by a global pandemic, and people are anxious to get back out there and celebrate America’s birthday. And this year, a record number of people are expected to travel by car for at least some distance, whether it be to a neighborhood picnic or a long weekend at the beach. Regardless of your plans, before you hit the road this July 4, you’ll want to get your car checked out by the pros at York Tire & Auto Service in Red Lion, PA. We will make sure everything is road-ready and in tip-top shape before the holiday.

Brakes

The most important safety system in your car is, of course, one of the things we would check over before your road trip. We can check your brake pads or shoes, rotors, calipers, and more to make sure everything is in working order. A lot of drivers will ignore a slight squeak with their brakes, but this is the beginning of an issue. If you’ve heard squeaks or squeals, get them taken care of before July 4.

Auto AC

You might not think of the auto AC as part of a check-up related to a car’s road fitness, but it is equally important to make sure yourself and your passengers are comfortable this July 4. Can you imagine climbing back into a sweltering vehicle after a long day at a picnic, only to have the open windows be your only means of cooling things down? That sounds like a recipe for unhappy friends and family. If your auto AC is blowing hot or not at all, get it fixed before July 4.

Tires

If you think about it, the only part of your car that actually touches the road is your tires. You’ll want to make sure these are in great shape before hitting the road this July 4. You can test it yourself – take a penny and put it between the tire treads. If you can see the top of Abraham Lincoln’s head, your tire tread is dangerously worn and could be a problem. We can inspect your tires for damage or slow leaks as well, but no matter what your tires may need, we are here to help.

At York Tire & Auto Service in Red Lion, PA, we are as eager as you to get back out there and celebrate July 4 with friends and family. But we care about your safety as well. Why not make sure everything with your car is running right before you hit the road this holiday? The peace of mind it provides won’t be as sweet as fireworks and apple pie, but it will go a long way in making sure you know you are safe on the road.
